Day 1:- Arrival in Colombo – Transfer to Kandy

(Approx. 125 km | 4 Hours)

Upon your arrival at Bandaranaike International Airport, you’ll be greeted by our local representative and transferred to Kandy, the cultural heart of Sri Lanka. Enjoy a scenic 4-hour drive through lush countryside, charming villages, and rolling hills.

En route, visit the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, located about 55 miles from Colombo along the Colombo–Kandy road. This sanctuary is not a zoo but a dedicated breeding and conservation center for orphaned and abandoned Asian elephants. Witness these gentle giants being fed, bathed, and cared for — a heartwarming experience that highlights Sri Lanka’s commitment to wildlife preservation.

Continue your journey to Kandy, and visit the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, a stunning golden-roofed temple that houses one of Buddhism’s most revered relics — the sacred tooth of Lord Buddha, enshrined within ornate, jewel-covered caskets.

Upon reaching your hotel in Kandy, complete your check-in formalities and take some time to relax. In the evening, enjoy a panoramic view of the city from Upper Lake Drive, followed by a mesmerizing Kandyan cultural dance performance, featuring traditional music, rhythmic movements, and an impressive fire-walking finale.

Return to your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay in Kandy.

Day 2: Kandy to Nuwara Eliya – The Little England of Sri Lanka

Travel Distance: 76 KM | Travel Time: Approx. 3 Hours

After a hearty breakfast, check out from your hotel in Kandy and set out for a picturesque drive to Nuwara Eliya, often called “Little England” for its cool climate, colonial charm, and rolling tea estates.

En route, stop at a tea plantation to learn about the art of tea making — from plucking tender leaves to savoring the world-famous Ceylon tea.

Visit the Hanuman Temple, a revered site believed to be where Lord Hanuman first set foot in Sri Lanka during his quest to find Goddess Sita. Continue your journey to the majestic Ramboda Falls, surrounded by scenic highlands, misty ridges, and lush valleys.

Next, visit the Seetha Amman Kovil, a colorful temple dedicated to Goddess Sita. According to legend, this is the place where Sita was held captive by the demon king Ravana. A short drive away lies the Hakgala Botanical Gardens, home to diverse flora and fauna, including rare orchids, birds, and playful monkeys.

Upon arrival in Nuwara Eliya, check in to your hotel and relax. In the evening, visit Gregory Lake, where you can enjoy boating or simply stroll along the lakeside promenade. Later, explore the Bale Bazaar, also known as the “winter market,” where you can shop for woollens and souvenirs.

Afterward, continue to Kosgoda Turtle Hatchery, one of Sri Lanka’s prime turtle nesting sites. Learn about local conservation efforts as you observe baby turtles in nursery tanks and witness how these hatchlings are safely released into the ocean, usually under the soft glow of night to protect them from predators.
